Lille Road shower room, Fulham
A complete refurbishment of a dated shower room a few minutes from our Munster Road shop. The client wanted to make better use of a narrow room, with a full-length shower and a lighter, more contemporary finish.

The original room had a curved corner enclosure that took up a lot of the floor and made the shower itself feel cramped. The brief was a full-length shower, a brighter room and a warmer brass finish, without the room feeling any smaller.
What we found after the strip-out
Once the old tiles, enclosure and suite were removed, sections of the walls and studwork around the old shower were in poor condition, with staining behind the old valve. This could not simply be tiled over. We replaced the failing studwork and formed a new side wall with a return to take the new shower tray and enclosure.
How it was rebuilt
- Full strip-out of tiles, enclosure, suite and floor finish
- Failing studwork replaced and a new side wall with a return formed
- Walls lined with NoMorePly cement boards; floor tiles laid over a decoupling membrane
- Luxe81 Delta White 595 × 595mm porcelain to walls and floor
- Merlyn MBOX 1000mm brushed-brass enclosure and Crosswater Central brushed-brass shower
- Fluted wall-hung vanity, brass tap and brass towel radiator
- Walls finished in Farrow & Ball paint
